The Opioid Dosing Guideline for Chronic non-cancer Pain guideline was originally published in March 2007 as an educational pilot. Sponsored by the Washington State Agency Medical Directors’ Group (AMDG), the original guideline and this updated version were developed in collaboration with actively practicing providers with extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic pain. It is intended as a resource for primary care providers treating adult patients with chronic noncancer pain. It does not apply to the treatment of acute pain, cancer pain, or end-of-life (hospice) care.
